Do you believe it’s time to transition from fossil fuels, quickly, and that with global cooperation it’s possible now, and that we can and should do so for the benefit of all humans and especially those in need?Do you want to help in building a revolutionary new company based on a patented product and service technology that contributes to this transition to a clean, circular economy?If yes to both, you may be the perfect candidate to join us at AlumaPower, a well-funded cleantech startup based in Southern Ontario, Canada, that is developing our first saleable product in the portable power generation space.

You will be an exceptional finance and accounting professional passionate about developing our financial capabilities to scale a profitable, multiple vertical, global cleantech business.You will report directly to the CEO and work intimately with the senior team and board to develop the business plans, accounting systems, IP portfolio, and strategic relationships to ensure a robust financial foundation for this early-stage innovator.You will leverage the expertise and network of the current investors/board members, as well as your own, to help contribute to our go-to-market and fundraising strategies over the next 12-24 months and then help build the team to realize the opportunity.You will have successfully led financing and accounting at other fast growth startups, demonstrating the highest level of ethics and ability to leverage various fundraising sources, including private (family office, venture, corporate), public, and government (e.G., IRAP, SDTC, SBIR, etc.).

You will have a CPA, or equivalent, designation and must be able to maintain accurate accounting (corporate, project and cost), create the financial portion of business plans and budgets, negotiate and close successful financial and strategic transactions, be a powerful communicator and analytical thinker, and have a history of delivering results.If you’re the person we’re looking for, you’ll have the following attributes, experience, and skills:Track record of leading finance and accounting operations for fast-growth companies, including preparing budgets, monitoring expenditures, costs and P& L, reviewing, analyzing,and reporting on the company’s financial data and performance, and taking control of the startup’s financial planning and risks associated with future goals.Strong analytical, accounting, communication, and modelling skills to understand value drivers internally and with external customers, ensure accurate cash flow, balance sheet and profit and loss reports and projections, and convey results and projections compellingly to senior management, board members, and outside funders.Professional designation (e.G., CPA) in accounting, business accounting, or finance.10+ years of experience operating, managing, and delivering results in a finance and accounting role.Capable of understanding and managing tradeoffs and evaluating opportunistic new ideas with internal and external partners.Ability to think strategically, innovatively and creatively using sound business judgment and quantitative/analytical skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English) with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner, with demonstrated experience engaging and influencing senior executives.

Fluency in French will be considered an’re exceptional, then you’ll have some of the following experiences:-Experience leading a company to go public, or a raise over $10 million of new funds through private sources.An aptitude to understand technology products, processes and systems both existing, and emerging technologies.An MBA and technical degree a plus.Knowledge of Canada-US cross border transactions and consolidation of accounts including banking and tax filing from our US subsidiary.CompensationCommensurate with experience.

Opportunity for significant equity participation.LocationCurrently in Sarnia, Ontario head office will transition to Southwest Ontario (London to Kitchener-Waterloo) at a location to be determined.
