Application Coordinator


This is a Contract position in Sarnia, ON posted August 4, 2022.

The successful applicant will work in compliance with all relevant and applicable legislation and Hospital Policies and Procedures, will practice the Bluewater Health Standards of Performance Excellence and will fulfill their role within the Attendance Support Program parameters. The successful applicant will also possess effective communication and interpersonal skills, will have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and will have strong attention to detail and accuracy.

– Post secondary diploma in Information Technology, related field, or recent related work experience required
– 3-5 years of application software implementation or administration experience in a healthcare environment
– Working knowledge of application software, databases, and hardware required

Skill, Ability and Experience:

– Detail oriented with strong problem solving skills
– Keen interest in new technologies and application of systems for innovative problem solving
– Highly motivated, with the ability to be self-directed, work independently and reliably
– Ability to prioritize, manage time well, execute duties, meet deadlines, and troubleshoot
– Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to distill complex ideas and gain cooperation
– Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders within the healthcare system and external partners to understand opportunities and challenges with software and systems
– Good understanding of systems and application architecture with the ability to troubleshoot
– Proficiency in MS Office suite

Principal Duties:

– Troubleshoot applications and escalate as required to resolve issues
– Work closely with vendors to keep the application updated to the most current version
– Work with our IT partner Transform to find paths for integration and keeping applications running to its optimal performance.
– Achieve and maintain an in depth knowledge of hospital applications to identify opportunities and deficiencies
– Develop and maintain documentation for workflows including sign-offs from key stakeholders
– Develop and/or run reports to provide data to support operations and drive change
– Prioritize and implement system updates and changes as required and communicate changes to users
– Take proactive measures to anticipate user problems and reduce system downtime/user impact
– Train and educate end users to utilize systems effectively
– Report to departmental leadership and support hospital teams and committees as a resource
– Other related duties as assigned
