Are you interested in playing a key role in developing and implementing Indigenous consultation and reconciliation efforts for our Projects and Operations? Enbridge is looking for an individual to assist and support the development and implementation of regional engagement plans and project engagement regulatory requirements and build, maintain, and improve Enbridge's reputation as a trusted corporate citizen!

What you will do

  • Provide coordination and regulatory support on project applications, policy implementation of our Life Cycle Approach and contribute to our efforts to drive results on Indigenous economic development and employment initiatives.

  • Support our engagement team in maintaining and developing relationships with leadership, departments and community members within Indigenous Nations, Governments, and groups in southwest Ontario.

  • Coordinate logistics for engagement activities such as open houses, site tours and gatherings.

  • Develop and maintain consultation records and data management.

  • Provide awareness and mentorship to fellow employees on Indigenous cultural protocols to ensure the company continues to build our culture of understanding and respectfully engage with Indigenous groups.

  • Ensure the advancement of Indigenous consultations by working with the government agencies, regulators, and agencies to produce project notifications, records and Indigenous Consultation reports that are reflective of the Indigenous perspective.

  • Responsible for the coordination and oversight of various operational, project community investment and budgets.

  • Help coordinate and facilitate team participation in engagement events such as conferences, round tables, and other Indigenous gatherings in which Enbridge participates.

  • Provide support and advice on how to implement plans to meet Enbridge’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) commitments related to Indigenous employment and procurement.

Who you are

You have the following qualifications and skills:

  • University degree from a related post-secondary program

  • 4 of more years of directly related work or life experience working with Indigenous Nations, Governments, groups, or businesses.

  • Preference may be given to a candidate who identifies as Indigenous (First Nations, Metis, Inuit).

  • Knowledge and experience in engaging with Indigenous leadership, Elders, and community members.

  • Basic understanding of our business and ability to quickly learn Enbridge operations activities, experience in corporate relations, business, policy and/or budgets.

  • The ability to work independently with minimal direction.

  • Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong ability to analyze complex situations, resolve key issues and messages, and implement the programs.

  • Proven written and verbal communication, presentation and organizational abilities and strong conflict management skills.
