ABOUT THE ROLE Are you passionate about safety and helping others?

Consider leveraging your exemplary leadership skills in a Service Supervisor role with Levitt-Safety!

Reporting to the Regional Service Manager, your primary responsibility will be to oversee the development of the Sarnia Service Department and build a winning team where respect and core values are maintained at all times.

As the Service Supervisor you will have the overall responsibility for the success and profitability of the Sarnia Service Branch (including Fire Systems & Alarms, VFSS, Fire & Life Safety Emergency Equipment, Respiratory, Instrumentation, Fall Arrest, T&C and Rentals).

Key aspects of the role include: * Leadership and development of the Sarnia service team.

* Understanding and managing the key productivity & financial levers for the business.

* Working with customers to understand and meet their needs and expectations.

* Planning for successful execution and driving accountability.

* Ensure that profitability goals established in our business plan are met.

RESPONSIBILITIES * Improve labour efficiencies through daily performance on technician’s billable hours, and ensure all paperwork is handed into the office daily, and reviewed for accuracy.

Work closely with service coordinators to ensure all calls scheduled for a given month are completed through effective scheduling * Local Inventory Management * Health and safety leadership demonstrated by conducting bi-weekly service and safety meetings/toolbox talks, conduct job hazard analysis, timely management of accident/incident/near-miss reports and maintenance of all records * Working independently and with the sales division to maximize customer profitability and expand our portfolio (strive for preferred safety partner).

Joint customer strategy planning, campaign participation, customer site visits, needs analysis, deployment planning and service related demonstrations and assessments.

* Manage our vehicle maintenance program to ensure company assets are maintained in accordance with our Regional and National targets * Maintaining positive attitudes of all staff to ensure business plan goals are achieved * Ensure service test equipment is kept calibrated where applicable, perform scheduled and random audits of our in-house and mobile operations, ensure our ISO procedures are managed and ensure our shops are kept clean and tidy to further reduce safety hazards.

* Troubleshoot and provide solutions to service related problems.

* Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS: * Minimum of Grade 12 with 1 year of Post-Secondary education in business management or a combination of equivalent experience and related courses * A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Supervisor role with direct reports * The ideal candidate will have 2 years experience in the Fire & Life Service industry * Working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety regulations * Valid driver’s license with clean abstract/driving record provided yearly * Intermediate level computer skills * The ability to travel as required for extended or overnight stays PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS * Regular intervals of standing, sitting, walking or climbing stairs * Administrative duties include regular, prolonged periods of sitting with extended periods working with computers and associated viewing of screens.

* Occasional lifting & carrying of packages and equipment under 50lbs.

* Likely to involve travel several times per month, by car or air as required and occasionally over weekends.

* Should be capable of performing all Physical work performed by Service Technicians.
